The Story of Stuff
The Story of Stuff is a movement powered by the belief that we can create a world that’s healthier, fairer, and more sustainable by transforming the way we make, use, and discard stuff. I had the privilege of contributing to this mission by solidifying their brand book, ensuring their visuals, typography, and creative direction resonated across all platforms, from social media to video content.
Inspired by the raw, earnest energy of zines and grassroots flyer design, I infused the brand with textures and visual elements that conveyed authenticity and urgency. These choices added depth and a handcrafted feel to the look and feel, reflecting the movement’s roots in activism and its mission to empower communities. The textured approach complemented their storytelling, bridging a sense of nostalgia with modern relevance, and making the brand feel approachable and dynamic.
Through cohesive design and a thoughtful aesthetic, I helped unify their messaging across platforms. From compelling typography to dynamic social assets and video content, each element became a tool for driving engagement and building a community dedicated to positive change.
The result? A brand identity that marries earnestness with impact, empowering The Story of Stuff to tell its story with clarity, texture, and conviction—connecting with audiences and sparking action in the fight for a better future.
